I led the migration from legacy Shopify Scripts to the new Shopify Functions and Checkout Extensions framework, ensuring long-term scalability and maintainability. To support this transition, I developed a custom Shopify app to manage complex discount logic, carrying out extensive testing in both alpha and beta environments before overseeing the production deployment.

Alongside this, I built custom product detail page (PDP) selectors, templates for different product types, and reusable Liquid sections to streamline content management and maintain design consistency across the site. I also developed a bespoke mini-cart that integrates seamlessly with Recharge for subscription upgrades and ReBuy for dynamic, behaviour-based promotional offers.

Optimised Core Web Vitals (CWV) and authored detailed consultation reports recommending performance improvements for a Shopify storefront generating over $1 million in monthly revenue.

I created a lightweight Shopify 2.0 theme with a primary focus on performance, designed as a flexible base for developers to build upon. The theme was optimised to ensure fast load times and seamless user experience while providing a robust foundation for future customisation.

As part of the project, I built the primary product detail page (PDP) selector, leveraging Shopify’s customiser feature and metadata to enable flexible, data-driven product presentation. I also developed a bespoke mini-cart that integrates with Recharge for subscription upgrades and ReBuy to display targeted promotional offers based on the products visited.

I led the architecture and development of a large-scale learning management system for RTI Institute, a platform supporting a complex ecosystem of courses, instructors, and students. My responsibilities included designing the core backend functionality, including course enrolment and tracking, automated quiz and exam marking, certification issuance, and progress-based access control. I implemented robust role-based permissions for instructors, students, and administrators, ensuring each user could access the appropriate tools and content securely.

In addition, I enhanced the admin dashboard to provide intuitive management of courses, users, and content, and developed a comprehensive notification system that delivers updates both via email and in-app messaging. This required careful planning to maintain performance and scalability, given the high volume of concurrent users and data-intensive operations involved in course management and assessment.

I led production deployment, post-launch quality assurance, and client training, ensuring a smooth handover and reliable ongoing operation. This project demonstrated my ability to architect complex systems, integrate multiple functional layers, and deliver a stable, high-performance platform tailored to the client’s operational requirements.

I designed the architecture and developed a multi-role platform for Lively Rentals, providing dedicated portals for tenants and property managers. The system required careful planning to support complex workflows and user permissions while maintaining a responsive and intuitive interface for all user types.

Key features included a real-time messaging system between tenants and property managers, lease initiation and termination workflows with digital approvals, automated payment setup, payment history tracking, work order requests and management, and custom dashboards for both tenants and landlords. I also implemented a notification system to handle transactional updates and timeline events, ensuring users were kept informed of all relevant activity.

I led the production deployment, post-launch QA, and client training, ensuring the platform was fully operational and scalable from day one.

I was part of the team that delivered a full website rebrand for the hugely popular US restaurant chain, Sizzler, which receives over 500,000 monthly visitors. My responsibilities included developing the backend functionality for locations, menu, careers, and competition features. I also contributed to the front-end, implementing custom styling and building reusable component structures to ensure a consistent and maintainable user interface.

I was responsible for implementing the backend functionality for the locations and menu sections during Huckleberrys’ website rebrand. This involved creating dynamic content structures that allowed staff to easily update menus and locations via the admin interface.

I also contributed to the front end by building reusable components and designing layouts and styles for several static pages, ensuring visual consistency and responsiveness across the site.

I contributed to the rebuild of the Captain D’s website, focusing primarily on the locations and careers functionality. I developed custom features to manage and display location data efficiently, ensuring accurate search and filtering for users.

I was part of the team that delivered a full website rebrand for the restaurant brand Ruby Tuesday, a site receiving over 500,000 monthly visitors. I developed backend functionality for the locations and rewards sections, including building the integration with their CRM to ensure seamless data flow. On the front end, I implemented custom styling and reusable components, contributing to a consistent, maintainable, and performant user experience across the site.

I restored a broken headless WordPress/React setup, improving stability and maintainability for the Eggsinc website. This included refactoring performance bottlenecks and implementing a more robust architecture to prevent future issues.

Additionally, I developed custom front-end features that could be managed by site admins through WordPress, giving them flexibility to update content without developer intervention.

I undertook various development and optimisation tasks for Sleep Wise, focusing primarily on building a quiz system to match users with the most suitable consultants. I also ran regular Core Web Vitals tests, implemented performance improvements, and produced detailed reports with actionable recommendations.

Additionally, I integrated API calls with their CRM and supported ongoing front-end development tasks, ensuring the site remained stable, performant, and user-friendly.

I designed and built a bespoke brochure website for Clifton Landscaping, creating a clean, professional visual identity from scratch, including the logo. The project combined modern WordPress development with PHP, JavaScript, and SCSS to deliver a fully responsive site that showcases the company’s services and portfolio effectively, ensuring an intuitive experience for clients and prospects alike.

For Oakhive, I handled the full design and development of a custom brochure website, including the branding and logo design. Using WordPress alongside PHP, JavaScript, and SCSS, I created a visually engaging and user-friendly site that communicates the brand’s values clearly while remaining easy for the client to manage and update.

I was responsible for building the rebranded site for MMNL, a netball club with a complex structure encompassing multiple leagues, tournaments, and refereeing systems. The scoring system was particularly unique, requiring careful handling of the mathematics to accurately calculate club positions across competitions. Each club has its own dashboard portal to register players and manage settings, while umpires and committee members have separate login portals with tailored functionality.

I also developed an admin interface to efficiently manage and display extensive documentation. Additionally, I integrated WooCommerce to handle sign-up payments for leagues and tournaments, supporting both individual players and full teams, ensuring a smooth and reliable experience for all users.

I was tasked with creating a pixel-perfect website from provided designs, translating the visual concepts into a fully responsive, high-performance site. This involved writing clean, maintainable code and ensuring consistency across all pages, while adhering closely to the client’s design specifications.

For Medway Landscaping, I planned, designed, and built a complete brochure website, including the logo and overall branding.
